No more workin' 9-5

So I normally start off these posts saying there there's nothing new going on, but this time there is.
So whats new??
Well I quit my job. Sept 30Th is my last day. Where am I going? I'm going to a place that is all too familiar to me. I will have 2 bosses at this new job. Both male. They are a little intimidating at times but I think(hope) I'll be able to handle them.
I'm going to stay at home and raise my babies!!
So excited. Very nervous but excited
I have worked since I was legally able to so this will definitely be something completely new for me.
I have prayed about this for a long time. I had this ache in my heart, this desire that I needed to be with my boys. D and I worked things out and made it happen. Not saying its going to be easy but I think we'll make it. I love my little boys and can't wait for such a great opportunity that God has blessed us with.
On another note, I just celebrated my 25Th birthday! I had a wonderful day. So many wonderful friends and family helped to make it special. D got me 3 books that I've been wanting to read.

I've finished the last song and it was great! I don't expect anything less from Mr. Sparks. I'm working on eat pray love right now. Sadly I haven't had much time the last couple nights to read it much. I love to read but I try to not have books around that I want to read b/c I become obsessed. I will stay up all night and finish it. I read the last song in about 3 hours. I read really fast which stinks. I sometimes wish i read slowly so that I could enjoy them for longer.
but anyways back to my birthday day. My office gave me a beautiful and tasty cake which was great. Then when I came home my boys had me a cold stone creamery cake! YUM! Plus D had arranged for his cousin to watch the boys while we went out to dinner. His cousin got me this wonderful baby food making organic book! It has some wonderful recipes in it that I can't wait to try out. My M-I-L sent money and told me I had to spend it on myself. Huh? I don't know how to do this? but I think I mastered the concept :) I got a really cute purse and wallet. I was in desperate need of a new purse so I am super excited. I told D maybe in about 10 years I can splurge and get a really Nice purse. Not right now though. Too many snacks, toys, wipes, and other junk from the kiddos go in my purse. I don't want to ruin a nice purse w/ all that stuff;)
All in all I had my babies and my husband w/ me and that's the best birthday present ever!!
Other than that things are going well. L has been "army" crawling since about 5 months. But in the last couple of days he has mastered the actual crawling motion on all fours. Its so crazy how fast they grow up. Especially the second one. It seems like the second one does things at a faster rate than the first so things go by even faster. Its so fun watching L and J playing on the floor together. J is really great at sharing his toys w/ L. Of course there r moments where he doesn't share that great but that is definitely to be expected. I just picture them years from now playing together and it makes me smile. I hope they are close brothers and "like" to spend time w/ each other. I know the typical sibling fights are going to happen but I hope that they also want to play together and want to be with each other. We'll see :)
D and I hit up one of the local consignment shops here and finished up the boys fall clothes. We did really good. We got a lot of clothes for hardly nothing. but there is a slight problem w/ L's clothes. He has 6-9 month pants for this winter and they fit, except for when he sits down :) Poor buddy his belly is too big. Looks like he'll be wearing sweats all winter. Mommy knows how he feels though :) LOL
Now I'm just preparing for J's birthday party, Halloween, and L's party. FUN FUN
I don't have my camera w/ me so hopefully soon i'll upload some pictures soon.

Weekend wrap-up

This weekend was good. Didn't do too much. Went to the grocery store Friday and saved 50 bucks! J did so great the whole time in the store. He helped mommy put the foods in the buggy and he would get me whatever I needed. He is such a sweet big helper. He loves helping everyone.Funny note: If J sees where something has spilled in the store, it drives him crazy. He's constantly saying Oh man someone made a mess mommy. I'll clean it up.He then tries to start to clean up the mess. Oh Boy. I have to explain to him that someone will clean it up they just haven't gotten to it just yet. Sometimes this suffices him and sometimes not. I have to make it a point not to go near the "mess" again so he won't start back over again :) It's really quite comical and very sweet. I guess I've taught him well about cleaning. They say he is the best cleaner in his class at school! LOL
Anyone who has kids especially younger ones, knows that by the time you get to the check out line, they are usually done and ready to get out of the store. Well as was the case w/ J. He wasn't being bad at all, just antsy. So a VERY sweet young man who worked at the store came over and said ma'am it looks like you have your hands full, let me help you out. So he loaded my groceries on to the conveyor belt then bagged them and put them in the buggy. Also I forgot to get another box popcorn for my coupons, so he ran over and got me another one. All the while he gets a coloring book and crayons for J to have. Then he pushes my buggy out to the car and packs all my bags in the car while talking to J and entertaining him. Just reminds me that there are still nice people in the world. I hope that my boys are that giving and helpful when they grow up. I'm sure trying to teach them to be that way :) I know this is part of their job but this man went way out of his way to help me. Plus its part of a lot of peoples job to be pleasant and friendly but it hardly ever happens.Sad that i'm shocked when someone actually is.
Saturday we went to 2 grocery stores. I took both boys by myself. Some other stores were running specials and so I just had to get a few things at each. It wasn't bad at all. L just looked around the whole time during the first one and then fell asleep on our way to the second one and stayed asleep the whole time through the second store. It was great! Then we went home and played and then something happened that doesn't EVER happen in my house. It was a huge deal!! Major!!! BOTH boys went down for a nap at the SAME TIME!!!!
It was great. I really should have done some more laundry or cleaned some more house but I figured since it was such a grand occasion that I need to celebrate. I celebrated by laying on the couch and not moving. It was FANTASTIC!!! Then everyone woke up and we played some more until Daddy came home!
Side note for Saturday: I was busy getting everything ready for us to load in the car to go to the grocery stores and I knew J was in the garage and he ran in the house saying mommy come show me (which is mommy i want to show you something) so I go in the garage and he has all the car doors open. he said I opened the door for everybody! How sweet! Have I mentioned how big of a helper he is.

Sunday was good. We got up and played then went to TARGET. It was my goal to hit every store in town this weekend :) So then we came home and played and then IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!! BOTH kids went to SLEEP AT THE SAME TIME!!! So this time I cleaned and did laundry and scrubbed the floors and .... wait no I didn't do anything AGAIN. I sat my pretty little behind on the couch and watched TV :) I was all comfy watching my show when who should walk in but my husband!! He got off early which was nice. We actually had time to TALK and visit w/ each other for a little while before the kiddos woke up.When the kids got up,we got ready and took J to his open house. He is in a new classroom and I'm very excited. It seems promising. There are lots of new things that they are implementing in this classroom which I'm happy about. They are going to potty train!! work on their numbers and ABC's and lots of other very important learning skills! They are going to have book time and music time and lots of new things for the "big kids"! I can't believe my little buddy is growing up. This morning while we were getting ready, I told J he needed to go and get his shoes on. So I was brushing my teeth and J comes running in and says "Look mommy I put my croc-croc's (this is what he calls his croc shoes) on all by myself and I didn't get mad" He was so proud of himself. He sometimes gets frustrated when he can't do things himself and so this is why he said and I didn't get mad. I was so proud of him.
Well not to much else to report. L is still doing his form of crawling. He is such a happy baby. He loves his brother J and loves to be held. He is my little cuddly baby :)We go for his 6 month check up soon!I can't believe he is almost 6 months. CRAZY! He still is eating very good. No teeth yet though. He still sleeps very good at night. He usually gets up once around 3 or so and we feed him and he goes right back to sleep until about 6:30 or 7. Such a great baby. I LOVE my boys!!

I took a picture of J in his new class, but forgot my cord to plug into the computer so i'll either post it tonight or tomorrow.

clothes

So my plan was for the boys to wear thier costumes to J's toy story party but the more I thought about it, the more I feel like IF they even wear the costumes, they probably won't wear them that long so I needed backup outfits. Ta-Da. I didn't get the boots cause they were 40.00 but so cute! i would love to get them for Luke

This is what they are going to wear to Luke's Jungle theme party :)

Party Party Party

Hmm Whats New?

J has been w/o a pacififer for 2 weeks! He whined about it the first 2 days but after that he's been fine. He's going back to daycare today though so we'll see how that works. Most if not all kids in his class still have theres so we'll see how that goes. Just another sign that he's growing up.J just got over having fifth's disease. Yea I had never heard of it before either. All that happens is that you just run high fever with it and get a rash. But he's all better now :) Nothing is slowing him down now. I have picked out thier halloween costumes and both party theme's for the boys. Yes I know its far away but one, I love to plan and 2. I love to plan so...

Here are their costumes. J is going to be Buzz and L is going to be Woody. I wanted something that went together so that they could match. I figure this is probably the last year that I can pick out J's costume for him. Also his party theme. I figure from here on out he'll be telling me what he wants :) I hate that. LOL! :) J is really into Toy Story so that's why I picked it. and L well I don't think he'll care either way :) Or maybe he will, we'll see.

Then I'm going to do J's birthday in Toy Story. I've already got his cake lined up. I can't find too many cute Toy Story themed cakes but I've got a few ideas! And it totally didn't hit me until after I had planned these 2 ideas, that the boys can wear their costumes to J's birthday party! LOL Now if only the boys will actually wear their costumes. Not sure how their going to do but we'll see. Can't hurt to try :)

L's theme for his birthday party is jungle themed. Now I have found tons of cute ideas for a jungle themed cake. I have narrowed it down to one cake that I really like but there's a few things I want changed. and then i want to have some animal cupcakes for the older kids. I love the cupcakes in the second picture!

I've got that we can wear safari hats and have animal crackers to eat but after that, i'm stumped as far as decorations and cute food/activity ideas. I went all out for j's first birthday, that I can't not do it for L's. but that's okay cause I want to anyways :) I love to plan parties. Anyone have any cute suggestions for jungle theme first birthday?
Any-who that's whats on my plate right now. Love planning parties.
Oh adn trying to work on christmas gifts! I so didn't plan babies well. Halloween, J's party, thanksgiving, christmas, and L's birthday! :) Fun Fun

Getting older not younger

J was getting a bath last night when I came in shouting "J guess whats coming up soon?" He looked at me dumbfounded and said HUH? I said Mommy's birthday is coming soon and he said "OH Birthday Cake" Not sure where he learned that the 2 go together but its fine by me! I said yes that's right birthday cake. I then said mommy wants ice cream cake and he said Oh Yummy Yummy! LOL I then asked J what presents he was going to get me for my birthday and he said I'll get you cake mommy, and then he said and ice cream! HA HA I love that little boy!!
I'm not really sure what came over me, but I just got a rush of excitement about my birthday. I know the older you get the less birthdays seem important but I still get excited about my birthday! I'll be the big 25!!! This seems so old to me! Please I hope I don't offend anyone with this, but I've just always had a complex about getting older and 25 to me is on up there. Maybe cause I teased D so much about it when he turned 25 that I ruined myself. IDK either way it stresses me out. and b/c it stresses me out, I decided to do a fun Dream Wish List for my birthday.

1. Go on vacation. ANYWHERE. Just as long as I have my family with me.
2. Stop time and sleep for like 10 hours!!
3. Go on a major shopping spree and not have to pay for a single thing!! :)
4. Some piece of jewelery from Tiffany's. I really just want the blue box lol
5. A charm bracelet from Pandora
6. Eat at one of my favorite restaurants from IL. Mac n' cheese from Noodles or ice cream from Oberweiss or breakfast from Colonial Cafe or pizza from Leonardos! I think I want to eat at all these so bad cause I know I can't have them
7. Have a photographer take some family pictures:) I know I'm obsessed with pictures. I can't help it. Anyone find a class for photoholics anonymous let me know. I probably won't go though :)
8. A new designer purse
9. Did I mention a vacation anywhere??
10. My husband off for 2 weeks straight!!! Well maybe just like a week or so :)

So there is my dream birthday wish list. I'll let you know when they happen.

But in all actuality, I would love to just spend a nice relaxing day with my 3 boys! That's all the present I really need.

Love me some pictures

All Pictures courtesy of Courtney Blue Photography www.courtneybluephotography.com
Courtney took some family pictures of us several weeks ago and they turned out amazing. Of course they are not as clear and vibrant here since I scanned them into the computer but they are great in person! There are lots more where these came from, but I thought I'd share just a few.
We've already booked our fall photo session and I've got great ideas for that one. Let's just say ROLL TIDE!
nothing too new going on in the Glass household. L has had a rough cough for a little while but he's getting better. We've been giving him breathing treatments at night to help him out and I think its finally paying off. He got into this kick where he didn't want to sleep at night but I think we're finally back on track. Well probably not now since I said something.. Oops! :) But all is well in the house. L is growing like crazy and so is J.

time after time

What has been going on in the Glass family?
Well we had L's 4 month check up Friday (18th) Appointment went great. He weighs 15.6 lbs and is 25 inches long. He is surprisingly only in the 25-50 percentile for height and 50-75 for weight. Now his head on the other hand is in the 25th percentile. Poor buddy got a little head. No wonder he has been holding his head up on his own for so long:) Just thought the kid had skillz lol.But other than that he is doing great. Passed all his tests and got his 4 shots :( He cried for a minute but then fell fast asleep. D had remembered to give him Tylenol before they left the house to meet me at the Dr. so I think that that helped. Speaking of Tylenol, we got our rebate check in the mail from all their recalls. we got 25 bucks! Hate that they had to recall all their medicines but loving my 25 dollars. What does that say about how much meds we have in our cabinet? Oh and no helmet for L! Woo-hoo!!!!

J went and stayed w/ his "memaw" all last week. Of course they had a ball! So blessed for J to have a memaw to go and spend summer fun with. I know he'll remember all these special times when he's older. J went to VBS that week. From what I heard he was pretty good and had fun. Friday night D, L and I drove down to pick him up and to see his little commencement show. That was fun let me tell you. We'll save his behavior during that for another post :) Of course D and I missed J like crazy but I know he had lots of fun and I think L enjoyed having his own time w/ mom and dad. One of the hard parts of being a parent. Having to put your own emotions aside for your children. Its so hard when they grow up and go out on their own. But I know how much better it is for him to have these experiences. As a parent, you work really hard to raise them well and for them to be able to go out on their own, so its important I think to send them out into the world to practice what you preach. Gotta let them grow up sometime :) Can't believe I just said that.

Another thing I can't believe i'm doing. I ordered a cuisianart mixer and i'm making L's baby food. We tried avacados this weekend and he didn't like them at all. LoL but he does like applesauce and prunes. Not a huge fan of bananas though.

Let's see what else.

I ordered our family pictures last Friday so I should get them in about a week. Crossing fingers they'll be in this Friday :) Now I just gotta find frames for all these, ugh! Seriously frames should be like a dollar. why are they so darn expensive? Maybe i'll just go and chop some trees down and widdle me some frames :) Yea in my spare time.. lol
J is just doing great. He is doing great developmentally with his speaking. Of course he definitely has his terrible 2 moments, but he is such a sweet happy loving kid. He loves L so much it is so sweet. he is just so terribly independent, it kills him sometimes. He wants to do so much by himself that he just gets so frustrated sometimes when he can't. very frustrating for this mom as well :)
L is really close to rolling over. He is almost there! He is wearing size 3 diapers and 6 or 6-9 month clothing. depending on brand. L is a very happy baby and smiles and laughs all the time. He still is not a huge fan of the car seat, but is getting better for sure. Most of the time he just falls asleep.
I found a double stroller I'm in love with, and I had pretty well convinced D to get it for us but then found out that it only uses their car seat and D said no to buying another car seat since we have 2 already so guess the stroller is out for now. Maybe in a little while. D is starting to work 7 days a week now for the next several months (as in 4-5) so maybe w/ that extra money we'll be able to get it :)

I hate that D is going to have to work so much, but we are beyond blessed for the overtime b/c its good money that we could definitely use right now. In this economy we're blessed for him to even have a job.I know there are so many families out there struggling right now and would give anything to even have a job at all.
Speaking of jobs, please keep D in your prayers. He's finishing up the last part of a 3 part process for a new job. Saturday he finishes up the last part. Not sure if they'll tell him right then and there or if he'll have to wait to hear. Waiting is the worst. This job would be so great for D. So much less stress, more money and he wouldn't have to work so hard. We've both been praying that if this is the right job for d and our family and where he should be, that the lord would put him w/ this company. if this is the lords plan for us, then that is where he will put him. We have a lot of life changes that we're going through right now, and this job would just be the beginning of helping us start those changes. Just please say prayers that we follow in the path that God has put for us and not in the path that we choose our self. I have such a hard time with that sometimes. I have control issues and I have a hard time stepping back and making sure I'm following gods plan and not my own.
had a great fathers day. or at least I think so. Got up to D making breakfast for us :) he also let me sleep in. (see why i thought it was a great day lol) But i had been up all night w/ L so that was my fathers day present to D :) Had a great breakfast then went to Home Depot. Then ate out lunch. On the way home the kids were passed out in the car so I dropped D and J off at the house then me and L went on to Michael's to look at picture frames. L woke up when we got there so he helped me pick out frames. then we went home and I played w/ L in his room while d watched some boring, um I mean fun movie. Then J woke up and we all played and hung out while L napped. Then D and J went and saw Toy Story 3! D said J had fun and did really great, but about half an hour into the movie J looked at d and said I want to go home and D said okay we'll go in just a minute buddy and J said okay. then about 30 mins after that he said again he wanted to go home so D said okay let's go. I think J was just tired and was ready to go home and relax. I'm glad they had fun and now we know that J might actually be able to sit through a movie :) All in all got to spend lots of family time together so I always count those as good days :)

My new obsession: Maybe one day we can get this.
